Referencing the BDC “Project Buckle”, once again the standards and bad practices of the BDC demonstrate this organizations lack of knowledge and selfish business practices the BDC has toward Vernon citizens. In my opinion, the BDC needs a total overhaul because the members obviously have no idea what a BDC does. Come On…using business taxpayers own money to destroy the lively hood of that business owner’s family, business, and competing against their own business. Where were the analysis, planning, and finally the voice of the tax payers? How can any BDC make a decision regarding tax payer’s money when they don’t [at a minimum] conduct a Course of Action Analysis involving the taxpayers? Vernon Citizens protect your Freedoms. A verbal agreement with any organization in Vernon is “No Agreement”. Ask to see your taxes at work for you. One tax payer alone can’t be heard, but many together can knock down Mountains. Just had the opportunity to read your story regarding the expenditures of the BDC and I have to say I’m very disappointed in the blatant disregard the Vernon BDC has for its tax payers including myself. I’m currently overseas in Afghanistan and have several properties in Vernon. What upset me the most was the understanding that my spouse just recently gladly paid our city taxes and the BDC unashamedly and knowingly abused funds paid for taxes by Vernon citizens. After 22 years of service and still continuing to protect our grateful nation nothing seems more like a “blatant lie” than the response given by the BDC for its actions. Citizens manage Credit Cards and receipts daily. If I and my family can manage finances while I’m serving in a combat zone, the BDC can obviously do it while staying in a luxury hotel I helped to fund. We really need to relook at the basic values of who we place in positions of this magnitude. Professionally, Sergeant Major Montez, Salvador Jr. Kandahar, Afghanistan

I am very pleased that IESI has offered recycling to their customers in Vernon. It would be very helpful if they would submit a detailed article to the VDR regarding exactly what is accepted and what is not. The instructions on the bins don't give enough detail. Thanking you in advance !!
